Bellano

Bellano is a pretty village in the central eastern region of Lake Como. Here is a headland and lovely beaches and Lido with a public pool. Bellano has an array of attractive restaurants and shops. From the boat stop you can catch a passenger ferry or a speed boat to many of the attractive, quaint and interesting towns along the lake. From Bellano there is an entrance/exit to the tunneled motorway (Superstrada) that leads south. Making day trips southwards easy, (Lecco has a ring road). From Varenna there are train and road connections to Bellagio und Menaggio/Cadenabbia. However we recommend highly trips without a car.

On Lago di Como there are 6 golf courses and more in the surrounding area. Above Menaggio is the closest ( take the ferry to Menaggio about 30 - 35 min. away) In Sondrio is the most nothern, the Valtellina Golfclub. To the south in Songrio near to Brianza is another one.

biking

On this side of the lake and on the shore side road there is a lot less traffic making bike tours possible and pleasant. Mountain bikers will find this a great strarting point from which to explore the marvellous mountainous surroundings.

Above Colico is an in and outdoor riding stables.

tennis

In Vestreno - above Bellano there is a modern tennnis court (make reservations in the trattoria). More tennis courts can be found in the neigbouring villages of Dervio und Colico.

hiking

Your holiday home is the perfect starting point for plenty of hikes and mountain walks that give you fantastic panoramic views of Lake Como and the valleys nearby. Here you will find the fruits of nature (mushrooms, chesnuts etc) in their original form as well as served up in the mountain restaurants and trattorias. Further a field are lovely walks round the lake, as well as in the nearby Valtellina Valley and in the Bergell region. Rock climbers can try out the mountains around Lecco. A particular favourite of climbers too is in Varenna, direct on the lake.

water sports

In Bellano as well as in the neighbouring Dervio and Varenna there are severa beaches, particularly on the headland. There are public beaches and lidos with sunlounger hire and kiosks. In Bellano there is a sailing school (for katamarans too) and in Dervio there is a surf school and sailing school for small yachts.
